    Shirley (Belisle) Barron

    May 19, 1938 - February 19, 2018

    Shirley (Belisle) Barron, age 79 of Sutton Hill Nursing Center and formerly of Andover passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2018. Shirley was born in Lawrence on May 19, 1938 to the late Louis and Mary (Roy) Belisle. She was a former communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish of Andover. Along with her late husband Charles, Shirley was the former owner and operator of Barron’s Country Store of Andover. She was also a former long time employee of Raytheon. Shirley enjoyed golfing with her husband and was a former member at Indian Ridge Country Club. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting and crocheting. This past Christmas, Shirley crocheted scarves for the staff at Sutton Hill Nursing Home. She and her late husband spent many summers in Seabrook, NH and winters in Ft. Myers, FL. While in Ft. Myers, Shirley would volunteer at the neonatal unit at Lee Memorial Hospital. She also belonged to a bowling league in Florida. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Barron, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Brenda Himmer and her husband John Boucher of Andover, and Douglas Barron and his wife Juli of Tamworth, NH and formerly of Andover. Shirley was the dear sister of Grace Lannan and her husband Joseph, the late Muriel Wilfert, the late Doris Morency, and the late Walter Belisle. She was the loving grandmother of Jillian (Himmer) Brown, Leanne Barron, Jacqueline Himmer, and Brooke Barron. Shirley was the cherished great-grandmother of Kendall Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Rd. Andover. Interment to follow in the spring at West Parish Cemetery of Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
