    Robert H. Hebert

    March 3, 1925 - September 4, 2020

Robert H. Hebert, 95, longtime resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2020 at the Methuen Village. He was born on March 3, 1925, to the late William and Melina (Lord) Hebert. Like so many of the Greatest Generation, Robert enlisted and completed his basic training prior to his high school graduation, where he proudly walked across the stage carrying the American Flag in uniform to receive his diploma from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1943. He served honorably in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters with the US Navy during World War II. He enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life, sailing his fleet of sailboats and fresh water fishing. Robert owned a camp on Pleasant Lake in Otisfield, Maine, where he spent many summers making warm and fond memories with friends and family. He worked for many years as a purchasing manager until his retirement from the Andrew Wilson Company. Robert touched many lives in many different circles and will be cherished, loved and missed by all. Robert will be dearly missed by his children; his daughter, Barbara E. Morton and her husband Wayne of North Carolina, his son, Robert H. Hebert II and his wife Linda of New York and his stepson Thomas R. Hart of Methuen. Robert is the proud grandfather to Jeffrey Morton and his wife Katie of NY, Kerry Joyce and her husband Michael of NC, Robert H. Hebert III of NY, Lindsey Gifford and her husband Gary of NY, Jeffrey Hart and his wife Amy of Haverhill, and Jennifer Hart Griffin and her husband Brian of Salem, NH. He was also a loving and attentive great grandfather to his 13 great-grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his dear sister-in-law Grace (Dunbar) Peglow. He will be sadly missed by his devoted family members Kathy Gagnon and her husband Ron of Methuen, and their daughters Michelle Goodwin and her husband Peter, also of Methuen and Lisa Gagnon of Pelham, NH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his “Lake Family”. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (Dunbar) Hebert in April 1973, with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage, his second wife Glenis (Allatt) Hart Hebert in October 2009, with whom he celebrated 28 years of marriage, and his sister, Loretta Beaudin in 2018. Visitation for Robert will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10 – 11 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment with military honors to be held at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks will be required at the funeral home, and social distancing must be followed. If you have a health or other underlying concern, please do not attend. Robert’s family will understand and respect your decision. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Robert’s memory to the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program, 1 Eaton Street, Lawrence, MA 01843. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is proud to serve the Hebert Family
