Methuen, MA. ? Raymond Marcoux, 88, years died Sunday August 5, 2012 at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Marcoux was born in Andover October 30, 1923 the son of Florian and Mary (Ouellette) Marcoux. He was employed at the General Telephone and Electronics(GTE) as a Technical Associate for 11 years and also an electronic engineer for seven years at Standby System of Medford, Massachusetts and later Raytheon Spencer Labs as a senior technical writer for eight years before his retirement in 1987. Mr. Marcoux was educated in the Lawrence in Andover schools. He graduated from Saunders radio and TV school in Boston. He received an associate degree from the Capital Radio Industrial Electronics Institute. He attended Northeastern University specializing in analog and digital circuits. Mr. Marcoux was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for the the last 30 years and he was a member of the society of technical writers attaining the grade of member. Raymond attained the FCC first-class radio and telephone operators license. He was a Master Technician, for radio and TV repair and had a teaching license in electronics from the Lowell technical school. He was a regular blood donor to the American red cross, donating at least 43 pints while employed at GTE, Raytheon, and private donations at the holy family hospital in Methuen, MA. During World War II he served his country in the United States Army Air Force as a radio operator for four years and received the victory medal and the American Theater campaign ribbon before being honorably discharged at wars end. Raymond was a Communicant at our Lady of Good Counsel?s Roman Catholic Church. He leaves his sister Mrs. Lorraine Lapointe of Woodbridge Virginia, nephew Michael Lapointe of Springfield, Virginia, nephew Robert J. and his wife Rachel Groleau of Methuen, a niece Arline and her husband Francis Soucy of Port Charlotte, FL. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from our lady of good counsel parish/St. Theresa's church 22 Plymouth St. of Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery. Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St. of Methuen.
