Pauline Ayer-Low

Pauline (Frisbee) Ayer-Low, 97 of Salem, NH, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at home with her daughter, Susan, and son-in-law, Scott, by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. Ayer II and Chester Low. Born in Lawrence on June 13, 1921, she was the daughter of Frank Leslie Frisbee and Emma (Mutch) Frisbee. She graduated from Johnson High School in North Andover, class of 1938. She worked as a sales clerk at Towne Gift Shop in Andover for over 15 years until her retirement in her early 80’s. Pauline was a political activist. She was a member of the North Andover Town Republican Committee. She was also a delegate of the Republican National Committee during President Richard Nixon’s campaign. She was a member of DeMolay International in North Andover. She volunteered at Tewksbury State Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, cooking, and entertaining friends. She was well known for her weekly Saturday night homemade pot of baked beans. She also liked playing cards with her group of friends, who met monthly and called themselves the “Do Nothings.” Pauline will be deeply missed by her daughter, Susan Bergman and her husband, Scott and her grandson, David C. Ayer, Esq. She is predeceased by her son, Robert S. Ayer III. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Pauline’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
