    Mary Palermo

    August 17, 1922 - May 10, 2022

Our mother, Mary (Kluck) Palermo, 99, began her journey into eternal life on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Malinowski) Kluck. She worked in the mills until the end of the war. She married her husband, Mark, in 1949 and they enjoyed the next 60 years together and thus began the legacy that she has left with us today. Mary was a lifelong learner, voracious reader, expert gardener, and enjoyed summer vacations in Vermont with her family. In addition, she was a devout Catholic and her life was a living example of kindness and gentleness. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark, who passed in 2009. Mary is survived by her three children, Mark Palermo and his wife, Esther, Maryanne Gerdnic and her husband, Steven of Bradenton, FL, and John Palermo and his wife, Suzanne of Concord, VT; her devoted niece, Debra Blazok Blood of Methuen. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Laura Gerdnic and her fiancé, Hunter Surles, Olivia Palermo, Thomas Palermo and his partner, Gabby Mantel, John Palermo, and Adrian Palermo. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9:00-10:15 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Entombment to follow at Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Compassus Hospice, 790 Turnpike Street, Suite 202, North Andover, MA 01845. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Palermo Family.
