    Mary McDonald

    January 15, 1923 - August 19, 2018

    Mary McDonald, 95, went to be with our Lord and Savior at the Academy Manor in Andover MA on August 19, 2018. Born in Lawrence, MA on January 15, 1923 to the late William and Frances (Berzynski) Zukowski. Mary was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1941, served in the U.S. Navy in Washington DC during WWII, worked at Western Electric, and retired from the IRS as a tax examiner. Mary was the beloved wife of 57 years of the late Donald H. McDonald, and the loving mother of 3 children: Donna and her husband Paul Wilchinski of Methuen, Michael McDonald and his wife Jane of New Smyrna Beach, FL., and Joanne and her husband Rob Reeves of Leland, NC. 9 grandchildren: Heather, Mark, Matthew, Jessica, Timothy, Nathan, Julie, Courtney, and Victoria. 9 great grandchildren: Kyle, Martin, Vann, Riley, Brody, Lija, Bella, Luke and Lara. Mary leaves a brother, Edwin Colby of Naples, FL., was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Colby, and Stanley Zukowski, and has many nieces and nephews. Mary loved the Lord, her family, many friends, life itself, and going to her camp at Province Lake NH. Her beautiful smile and warm personality would light up a room. Mary's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Academy Manor in Andover, MA for their steadfast care, kindness, patience, and love; an additional thank you to Compassus Hospice Care as well. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 am at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA, 01844.
