Marcelle B. Donohue

February 5, 1931 - March 24, 2022

Marcelle (LeBlanc) Donohue passed peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the age of 91. Naturally, her last breath was spent talking about the love of her life, Joe whom she’s been married to for 71 beautiful years. Those who knew Marcy, know she was always the life of the party. Born February 5, 1931 to Eugene and Angelie (Allard) LeBlanc in Lawrence, MA, Marcy was one of four children. She went on to get married at the tender age of 20 to Joseph Donohue, her best friend, travel partner and absolute love of her life, and had 3 children together. Marcy’s favorite activities included, cooking, traveling, Summering in Kennebunk, ME, entertaining, being a pen pal for over 20 years with Barbara Bush. Above all she most enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter. The last trip she took was a cruise in 2018 for her husband’s 90th birthday, which she planned on her own. She spent several years on WCCM Radio, hosting “Cooking with Marcy”, and her favorite memory being of her granddaughters special on air appearance. Marcy was also a food columnist for Methuen Life and she also went on to publish a cook book. Marcy is predeceased by her parents, Angelie and Eugene Leblanc; one brother, Rene; one sister, Sister Estelle. Marcy is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Donohue of Methuen, MA; son, Wayne Donohue of Methuen, MA; son, Paul Donohue and Pam of Merrimack, NH, and daughter, Kathleen McAvoy and husband, Scott of Derry, NH; granddaughters, Kerri McAvoy Maunsell and husband, Joseph of Methuen, MA, and Molly McAvoy and husband, Mark Robillard of Auburn, NH; one great-granddaughter, Riley Maunsell of Methuen, MA; and one sister, Theresa Gagnon of Dennis Port, MA. A private service will be held for immediate family members and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
