    Lorraine P. Floyd

    January 24, 1925 - March 30, 2020

Lorraine P. (Daigle) Floyd, age 95 of Methuen passed away peacefully on March 30, 2020. She was a great Woman, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was born on January 24, 1925 in Methuen to the late Alfred and Flora (Vigneux) Daigle. She was a graduate of Edward Searles High School, Class of 1943 and attended McIntosh Business School. She was also a former communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish. Lorraine grew up spending her summers on Shadow Lake and making annual trips to Canada to visit her grandparents and relatives. She was most proud of her ability to speak and write in French. She began her early working life at the Arlington Mills in Methuen. She was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. After her children were grown, she became a salesperson for Almy’s Department Store. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, dress making, performing clown duty for the Methuen Senior Citizens, camping during the summer months, and crocheting. Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late Orville (Jim) Floyd. She loved to share the story of how a chance meeting in Boston, a girl from Methuen and a boy from Oklahoma, met on his way to Europe to engage in WWII. This chance meeting and subsequent marriage after the war, led to a long and happy 66 years of marriage. Most of all she loved her family. She was the beloved mother of Warren Floyd and his wife Ann, Linda Bacon and her husband George, and Robert Floyd and his wife Dee. Lorraine was the dear sister of Gloria Lake. She was also the loving grandmother of Lisa, April, Jason, Keith, Alicia, Sarah, Peter, and Rachel. Lorraine was the cherished great grandmother of Michael, Liam, Zach, Zoe, Emma, Charlie, Alexander, Thomas, Ryan, Amber and Gracelynn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. All services are private. Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Lazarus House, PO Box 408 Lawrence, MA 01842. For online guestbook, please visit the funeral home website, www.pollardfunealhome.com. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Floyd Family.
