Leda G. Noël

September 8, 1924 - March 13, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother Leda Noël of Lawrence, who died peacefully at her home with her children by her side on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was 97 years old. Born in Lawrence, MA, on September 08, 1924, Leda was the oldest of seven sisters, with two older and one younger brother to round out a close-knit family. She was the daughter of the late Charles Beaudette and Yvonne (Langlois) Beaudette of Methuen, MA, and was raised and educated in the Canobieola Heights area of Methuen. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Alphonse and Joseph Beaudette; and her sisters, Theresa (Jankausas) Dufresne, Rita Fowler, Beatrice Dehl, Irene Harris, and Yvonne Roy. Leda was also predeceased by her daughter Marcelle Noël; her son, Ronald Noël; and by her loving husband of 62 years, Chanel Noël. Just back from the war and wearing his dapper army uniform, our mother and father met at the wedding of a mutual friend, where they danced the night away. They were married shortly after in September of 1947, then moved to South Lawrence to start a new life together. Leda was a housewife, mother, mémère, grand-mémère, sister, friend and neighbor. She worked a few part-time jobs here and there, but more than anything else she loved spending quality time with all her extended family who she loved unconditionally. She was a talented sewer, especially embroidering and crocheting, and never turned down playing a hand of forty-fives. She was very devoted to God our Father and enjoyed praying the rosary each morning. Leda will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her remaining children, Normand Noël and his wife, Linda of Hardwick, NJ, Raymond Noël and his wife, Diane of Lawrence, MA, and Lucille White and her husband, Robert of Newton, NH; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Noël of Columbus, NJ. She is also survived by her sister, Bernadette Beaudette of Salem, NH. In addition, she leaves behind eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. We love and miss you mom. Please watch over us until we all meet again. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Parish, 118 S. Broadway, Lawrence. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
