Joseph Francis Ringland Sr.
October 19, 1921 - March 17, 2022
Joseph Francis Ringland, Sr., of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and beloved by everyone blessed enough to cross his path, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022. Joseph was born in Lawrence on October 19, 1921, and jubilantly celebrated his momentous milestone 100th birthday last October with his loving family and friends. He admirably served his country and was an honorable and proud World War II United States Marine Corps Veteran. Joseph was gregarious and enjoyed traveling, socializing and entertaining, and playing card games -- especially 45s. Joseph will be fondly remembered for his congenial and warm personality, his truly gracious and generous demeanor, and as a skilled card player who was adept at taking his fellow player’s money. As a devout Catholic, and a person of deep and abiding faith, Joseph was a former St. Michael’s Parish communicant and a former British Club member. Joseph was the son of the late James J. Ringland and Mary (Callahan) Ringland. He was the cherished husband of the late Marguerite (Golden) Ringland, and the late Jeannette (Faucher) Ringland. Joseph was the devoted father of Marguerite “Peggy” Bolduc and her husband Normand, Mary Crete and her longtime partner Don Torrisi, Sandra “Sandy” Ringland, and Joseph F. Ringland, Jr. He was the treasured brother of the late Marguerite Burke, the late William Ringland, the late John Ringland, the late Theresa Mackenna, and the late Mary Callahan. Joseph was the doting grandfather of Nicole Ringland, Jeffrey Bolduc, Laurie Bolduc, Ryan Crete and Eric Crete, and the endeared great-grandfather of an extended family comprised of great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also a favorite uncle to his special nieces, Jane Legendre and Carol Marsillia, and valued his close friend and old neighbor, Darren Casista and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Parish, 196 Main St., North Andover. Please meet directly at the church. Interment with military honors will be held at Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence.
