    Alexander T. Vellette

    Methuen, MA ? Alexander T Vellette, 86, died Friday morning at the Holy Family Hospital surrounded by his loving family and wife of almost 66 years Gloria. Mr. Vellette was born in Lawrence the son of Sam and Mary Vellette and in 1943 was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Following graduation he entered the United States Navy and served his country in both world war ll and Korea prior to being honorably discharged. Alexander, for 36 years Managed Dukes Men?s Clothing Store which was located on Essex Street in Lawrence prior to his retirement. Alex and Gloria belonged to the Methuen Senior Citizens Center, and loved ballroom dancing, traveling with the Rainbow Club, and was a former member of the Methuen Council # 4027 Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife Mr. Vellette is survived by children; Alexander T. Vellette, Jr. of Hampstead, NH, Diane G. and her husband Frank H. Messer lll of East Hampstead, NH, Brenda M. and her husband Alan Tisbert of Methuen. Grandchildren: Alexander Samuel, Samantha, Renee, Lisa, Frank IV, Michelle and Alan Jr., 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alexander has requested that funeral services be private with burial to follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
